Summary: 2.2b2 IDLE on W2k does not load

Initial Comment:
Hi,

2.2b2 IDLE on W2k does not load, I uninstalled the 
previous version(which worked fine), installed 2.2b2 
which seemed to go Ok, when I now load IDLE, the 
hourglass appears for about 2 seconds, then nothing.  
I am adminstrator on W2k Pro. The command line works 
OK.

Works for me, and there are no other reports of problems 
here.  Needs more info.  Try running Tools\idle\idle.pyw 
from a DOS box, using python.exe, and see whether that 
displays any error msgs.  The Start menu shortcut uses 
pythonw.exe (note the trailing "w"), and error msgs end up 
in the bit bucket then.
