Subject: ANN: SIP v6.8.3 Released (and release plans)

SIP v6.8.3 has been released. The main purpose of this release is to 
make sure all deprecated features (to be removed in SIP v7) are marked 
as such. Using SIP with the '--deprecations-are-errors' option is an 
easy way to identify what needs changing in your own projects. This 
should be the last v6.8.x release.

SIP v6.9.x development will move to GitHub and will focus on internal 
improvements (including speed optimisations) - no significant new 
features are anticipated.

SIP v7 is expected to be released around September 2024 (to tie in with 
PyQt v6.8 and Qt v6.8). You therefore have about 8 months to remove the 
use of any deprecated features.
