FWIW, the following change in Qt seems to be the culprit:

QEvent: start to de-inline copy ctor and clone() of all subclasses
https://codereview.qt-project.org/c/qt/qtbase/+/400745

On that commit (da0f72ebb817bb9c92c7a183b281d8a4bf31a135), PyQt fails
to build in the same way, while it builds fine with the commit before
that.
