The problem looks like a missing } or ) or some other punctuation, but it never seems to turn out to be that. I looked at the pre-parsed output, but the error is about 50K lines in, and I didn't see anything obvious in that vicinity. The only other thing I can suggest at the moment is to download the tarball from riverbankcomputing and try building that.
