Good Evening,

right now I'm working on new source packages for python-kde on Ubuntu.
I asked a couple of weeks ago for a workaround for the problems with
KConfigSkeleton.

Jim answered me in private and told me that he is reviewing the patches
mentioned in
http://mats.imk.fraunhofer.de/pipermail/pykde/2004-September/008483.html.
That was 2005-04-27.

Until now, I can't see a new snapshot or release of PyKDE.

So I decided to create a package with some patches included.

First of all I took the patch for kconfigskeleton from Michael Franz Aigner
<amfranz at gmail.com> and included them in the snapshot of pykde from
2005-03-16 (this is the last one from the webpage)

Second, I applied the patch from Sebastian Kügler <sebas@kde.nl> for the
exchange of qlist.h with qlistptr.h. (Message-id:
<200505250251.23610.sebas@kde.nl>)

Right now, Ubuntu is moving towards gnu gcc/g++ 4 and we're recompiling all
the cxx libs.
I will apply these patches to the new package of python-kde3.

So, for Ubuntu Breezy Badger there will be a source which is out of sync with
the upstream source.

I can't understand why those patches are not included into upstream, just
because python-kde is not working in some areas as expected.

And this KConfigSkeleton issue is much older then the qlist.h patch.

If you're interessted to include these patches to your upstream source,
the patches can be downloaded at
 http://ubuntu.linux-server.org/

Click on python-kde3 and download the patches.

Regards,

Stephan Hermann
