Why don't you try downloading the src.rpm and do a rpm --rebuild rpmfile, 
making new rpm adapted to your system. You only need the python devel libs  
installed. If it fails and complains of wrong python version installed, edit 
the spec file with correct version and do a rpm --ba specfile.
