I tried to send this along with our six temporary COVID-related policies attached, \
but the listserv won't accept attachments. If you want to see those, email me and I \
will send them to you.
They are
· Continuing Operations Guidance Regarding COVID-19 Policy

· Emergency Paid Leave Policy (adopted 3.16.20, ends 10.4.20)
· Sick and Vacation Leave – COVID-19 Policy (starts 10.5.20, replaces \
Emergency Paid Leave Policy)
· Vacation Carryover Policy
Here's the body of my original email:

Of particular note, from the Continuing Operations policy:
All employees must conduct the daily personal assessment below before reporting to \
work each day.
Good morning! Please ask yourself the following every morning before coming to work:
1. Do I have a new onset of a cough, shortness of breath or difficulty \
breathing?
2. Do I have any of the following symptoms?
a. Fever (greater than 100.4 F (or 99.5 F if you are 60 years of age or older)
b. Chills
c. Sore Throat
d. Muscle or body aches
e. Headache
f. Nausea or vomiting
g. Fatigue
h. Congestion or runny nose
i. Diarrhea
j. New Loss of Taste and Smell
k. Repeated Shaking with Chills
3. Have I traveled internationally (within 14 days)? - return to work after \
travel will follow NDDoH guidelines for quarantine
4. Have I been identified as a close contact to a positive case by the ND \
Department of Health Disease Control?
If you answered "Yes" to any of the questions → call your supervisor and STAY \
HOME!* If you answered "No" to all of the questions → come to work if you are \
scheduled
*Note: It doesn't say it on here but you should also call Employee Health if you have \
a symptom. They will walk you through a questionnaire to see if you need to be \
tested. Usually if you have two or more symptoms, or one of the more serious (fever) \
or unusual symptoms (loss of taste or smell) they will definitely make you get \
tested. They will work with HR to do the paperwork stating when the employee may be \
back. Usually if someone is waiting for testing, they will put a return date four to \
five days out to give time for testing lags. When the employee hears the result, they \
should call Employee Health to discuss the results of the test and see if they are \
cleared to come back sooner (or later).
And also from the Continuing Operations policy:
EMPLOYEE HEALTH CLINIC
The employee health department is dedicated to making sure our workforce is healthy \
during this emergency.
When should I call Employee Health?
You must call Employee Health if any of the following have occurred:
1. Someone you live with has been tested for COVID-19 and results are pending.
2. Someone you live with has been tested positive for COVID-19.
3. You are sick with COVID-19 symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore \
throat, body aches, chills, fatigue) to determine self-isolation time.
4. You have been tested for COVID-19 to determine time of quarantine or \
self-isolation.

One of my employees made this handy dandy checklist based on info from Employee \
Health:
A member of your household is a close contact to a confirmed COVID case:
1. They develop symptoms
a. They should get tested
b. You should self-quarantine
2. They are asymptomatic
a. They can get tested
b. You continue working
3. You develop symptoms
a. You should get tested
b. You should self-quarantine
4. They have a positive COVID test
a. You should get tested
b. You should self-quarantine
Contact Employee Health when you have to self-quarantine under any of these \
situations.

We have three branches. If we are simply short one day, we exempt supervisors may \
work longer hours. We would pull in other departments (Reference, Children's) to help \
with Circ tasks. If we are looking at multiple days of not enough staff to cover all \
the open hours,* we will close our smallest branch first and move staff from there to \
the other two branches and so on.
*In other words, if it will cause staff exhaustion and burnout, or if it's simply not \
possible to staff all open hours.

Hello Everyone,
If you have a covid testing/quarantine policy can you please send me a copy? We \
finally need to make one. Also, how will you be adjusting things for flu season. \
Doctors on the news are saying they can't tell the difference between the flu or \
covid if someone comes in until they get back a negative test result. In which case, \
will staff have to go get tested every time they have a symptom and then quarantine \
until they have a result - and get paid under the FMLA COVID provisions? If you end \
up too short staff to operate, do you close for a bit? I'm sure we're not the only \
library starting to think about this.

finally need to make one. Also, how will you be adjusting things for flu season. \
Doctors on the news are saying they can't tell the difference between the flu or \
covid if someone comes in until they get back a negative test result. In which case, \
will staff have to go get tested every time they have a symptom and then \
quarantine until they have a result - and get paid under the FMLA COVID provisions? \
If you end up too short staff to operate, do you close for a bit? I'm sure we're not \
the only library starting to think about this. <br> <br>
