The Video Trust<https://videotrust.org/about/> Board of Directors is looking for new \
members!
We would like to increase the number of people on our board to include those with \
experience overseeing media collections in public or school libraries; experience in \
publishing; or experience in areas of nonprofit management such as membership \
development or fundraising...and of course we are always looking for dedicated \
academic librarians and distributors to serve as well.

Who We Are
Video Trust strengthens media collection development in libraries through hosting \
educational events and other professional development opportunities, sponsoring \
research, and advocating at all levels for adequate attention to the critical \
understanding and appreciation of film and media resources in memory institutions.
We are looking for motivated Board Members with experience in areas specifically \
related to expanding our membership base, locating fundraising opportunities, and \
launching an online journal focused on scholarship and video for libraries.
What we do
Programming
Video Trust Board Members coordinate regular webinars that provide vital perspective \
on pressing issues in the ever-changing world of library media and an annual Virtual \
Market that gives vendors and librarians a way to connect and discuss video needs, \
content, and new films.
Master Title Database
Video Trust is currently in the process of assembling and hosting a publicly \
accessible database of educational video rights and related information for use by \
distributors and media librarians.
Publication
On the horizon for Video Trust is the creation and publication of an online journal \
exploring the issues pertinent to the field of media librarianship in the 21st \
century.
Board Member Responsibilities
* Work cooperatively with Board members to complete work and accomplish the goals \
of the organization.
* Attend monthly virtual meetings and occasionally serve on subcommittees focused \
on specific initiatives.
* Participate in employing and evaluating the performance of the Executive \
Director.
* Participate in approving expenditures.
* Lead specific initiatives or committees.
Qualifications
* Be informed of the organization's vision, mission, and services.
* Leadership skills.
* Demonstrated experience related to our current initiatives: publication, \
expanding membership of a nonprofit organization, or fundraising.
This is a volunteer position.
