21st Century Indexing: Learn how FAST (Faceted Application of Subject Terminology) \
can help libraries and other cultural institutions to assign subject headings

Why are libraries and other cultural heritage bodies choosing FAST (Faceted \
Application of Subject Terminology)<https://www.oclc.org/en/fast.html> for subject \
indexing? Join us on 2020 October 14 for a free 60-minute event, where Alan Danskin, \
Collection Metadata Standards Manager, British Library, will share how easy it is for \
technical department managers and practitioners alike to leverage this multi-faceted \
vocabulary of approximately 1.8 million headings. He will discuss tools available to \
help you begin using it and describe how FAST simplifies assignment of subject \
headings.

Dean Seeman, Head of Metadata, University of Victoria Libraries, will share how FAST \
has helped with describing non-MARC digital collections and Jesse Lambertson, The \
University of Chicago, D'Angelo Law Library, Chair, PCC SCT FAST Training for PCC \
Task Group will provide an update on efforts to promote FAST and provide training \
materials.
