Hi all,
My library is in the early stages of looking at a dedicated merchandising and display \
initiative and among one thing we are interested in investigating is the option of \
hiring a consultant to come in and review our spaces. For the libraries out there \
that have done space planning for proper merchandising and displays, I have the \
following questions:

- Did you hired a merchandising and display consultant? What prompted you \
to hire someone?

- If you didn't hire a consultant, why not and what was your internal \
process?

- If you did hire someone, can I ask a ballpark amount of what that cost?

- How long did your consultant take and what was involved in the process? \
If you proceeded internally without a consultant, what was your process like for \
assessing your spaces?

- Do you have names of companies that I can look into as far as websites and \
contact information?

- Did you only look at library consultants or did you approach retail \
merchandisers as well? Why?

- After the fact, do you have a specialized person on staff dedicated to \
merchandising and displays or is this shared among all staff?

- Anything else you feel would be helpful for us to know as we begin this \
process?

Thank you all for your collective wisdom! I appreciate the information!
Emily
