The City of Arcadia, California invites applications for the position of Li=
brarian I (Temporary, On-Call Assignment)

THE POSITION:
Under immediate supervision, and on a temporary on-call basis, the Libraria=
n I position will perform professional library work in one or more assigned=
 areas of the Library and perform extensive customer service duties on whic=
h may include providing general and specialized reference assistance and re=
ader's advisory to both children and adults.  For the full position descrip=

THE QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: Some experience working in a public library is desirable.
Education: Education equivalent to a Master's degree in Library Science fro=
m an ALA accredited college or university.
Special Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, sq=
uat, crawl, twist, and lift, carry, push, and pull 20 - 30 lbs.

SALARY* $25.18 - $31.45 per hour (effective April 1, 2014: $25.68 - $32.08)=
. *This is a part-time, at-will position and is not eligible for benefits.

ed on alternate Fridays.

THE SELECTION PROCESS:
Applications will be reviewed and those candidates who possess the most app=
licable experience and training will be invited to continue in the examinat=
ion process. The selection process will
consist of: Application Evaluation (Qualifying) and Oral Examinations (100%=
). Candidates will be selected for the oral interview based on qualifying r=
eview of application materials. The City
reserves the right to limit the number of interviews conducted. The intervi=
ew score determines ranking on the eligibility list and remain in effect fo=
r one year. Pre-employment background and
medical examination are additional requirements for hire. Failure in either=
 of these areas will result in removal from the recruitment process. Please=
