Shelley Quezada, the current chair of the Margaret E Monroe adult services =
award given annually by RUSA, has asked me to forward along this message.Sh=
e would very much like to request your advocacy in identifying nominations =
for this important award. =A0 =



While many past recipients have worked in the area of public libraries, oth=
er awardees have come from academia or been influential by consulting in a =
variety of
=A0areas that impact adult services.=A0 The deadline is December 15, 2011.=

Established in 1985, the Margaret E. Monroe Award is a citation presented t=
o a librarian who has made significant contributions to library adult servi=
ces. The individual
may be practicing librarian, a library and information science researcher o=
r educator, or a retired librarian who has brought distinction to the
profession's understanding and practice or services for adults.
The criteria for "significant contributions" will be judged by such factors=
 as publications, leadership, measurable effectiveness of programs, influen=
ce on others, and creative and innovative concepts.
