All:

 

We have just switched from a paper based sign-in/time sheet system to an
electronic fingerprint sign-in system.  It's working well and the
calculation of time in and out, vacation etc is much easier with a digital
file.

 

However, we need to change our policy now to fit this new system.  Currently
the section in our personnel policy is this:

 

39.0 TIME SHEETS            

 

39.1 Mandatory time sheets will be maintained by each employee with time
recorded in 15 minute increments. 

 

39.2 Employees are required to report actual work and/or leave hours on
his/her time sheets, including accurately recording the beginning and ending
time of his/her work day.  

 

39.3 Time worked must be reported accurately on the date that such work was
performed and the completed time sheet must be signed by the employee. 

 

39.4 Submission of fraudulent time sheets constitutes misuse of public funds
and will be subject to disciplinary action

 

And the weekly time sheet has the following at the end of each sheet with a
required signature and a date:  I hereby certify that the hours recorded are
complete and accurately reflect my hours worked.  Also, that I took the meal
and rest periods I am entitled to by law. 

 

Has anyone changed their policies to reflect biometric sign-ins like ours?
And what was your wording?  And what about the weekly affirmation that every
employee used to sign?  I could just have them sign a piece of paper each
week but part of the rationale here was to eliminate paper.
