Library Supervisor - Circulation

Excellent opportunity to join the dynamic management team of Pullman's
City Library! 

 

Unique learning community of 27,000 (including 17,000 university
students) seeks visionary circulation supervisor, with initiative and
enthusiasm. Bring your strong interpersonal and communication skills to
join the management team in an attractive facility with quality staff.
Close to half of all materials circulated annually (over 365,000) are
children's materials.  Further information on the library can be found

Responsibilities include:  Excellent customer service; interviewing,
training, scheduling, directing and evaluating library circulation and
shelving staff; coordinating service areas with other library
departments; identifying & implementing changes in procedures, assisting
with the preparation and maintenance of library policies/procedures and
circulation/shelving manuals; preparing annual work plan, reports, and
notices for functional area.  Successful applicant will have an
opportunity to work with teens and teen collections or other areas of
interest or expertise.

 

Applicants must be able to work independently, communicate effectively
in English, work well with people of all ages and have considerable
knowledge of library procedures and services.  Qualifications include:
at least two years of library experience in circulation, preferably with
one year of supervisory experience, or any equivalent combination of
experience and training. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
