Subject: Rosewood

I searched a few catalogs and found that most of them had Rosewood as a
"feature film"--neither fiction nor nonfiction. The best description I
found was on Melvyl: "powerful fact based drama," which used a number of
"history" subject fields for this movie. Having seen Rosewood, I would
agree.

Last night we went to see Boys Don't Cry; a week ago I saw the documentary
for the story of Teena Brendon. The dramatization of this person's life was
in some ways more true to the life story than the documentary, because the
dramatization could reconstruct some of the facts that we are told in the
documentary but which are much more realistic when re-imagined through the
film-maker's eyes. Although both films were excellent, the dramatization is
an important historical resource in its own right.
