Subject: Unscented disinfectants/cleaners?

Hello all,

Can anyone recommend a commercially available disinfectant/cleaner that is
non-scented and would be readily available in Canada?

To reduce the spread of germs and reduce staff illness, a staff member has
requested that we keep a bottle of cleaning fluid and J-cloths (or the like)
at each of our reference stations, which would be used to clean the computer
keyboards and telephone on a regular basis, i.e. once a day or more.

However, the cleaning issue has been controversial in this division in the
past. The staff are very sensitive to scented cleaners and will not tolerate
their residue on our equipment -- even highly diluted, Mr. Clean and other
commercial products leave a smell that upsets some people. A vinegar
solution would be out of the question. One person has suggested we use
rubbing alcohol; it would certainly disinfect, and evaporate quickly, but
I'm concerned that it might be harsh on skin, hands, eyes, etc. and leave a
medicinal smell on the equipment.

Any suggestions or recommendations for products will be much appreciated. As
well, if anyone has any comments on the effectiveness of cleaning staff
phones/keyboards as "preventive medicine," I'd appreciate them.

With thanks,

Adrienne
