TJ,

Thanks for the assistance. When I try to copy a file the program 
only says that the command is invalid. Nothing is passed back to 
the program (checked using a -d9 debug). I was able to move files
using rename which made me quite happy. Now the only thing left
to put the server into beta testing for us would be able to copy
files to difference directories. 

Is it possible?

What does debugging output show, on the server, when you try this 'copy'
command?  I'm interested in seeing what FTP commands the client is
