Nope.  The domain part of Message-ID is not allowed to end in a dot.
As for attempting to resolve the domain further (via the action of the
RES_DNSRCH or RES_DEFNAMES flags to res_search()), no program should
even bother.  Attempting to resolve it all is fairly pointless given
that the domain part is not required to exist in the DNS at all.
