Summary: filter applies too generally
Initial Comment:
I added this to user.filter
FILTER: GA AG
s/.*/a/g
I added this to user.action
{ +FILTER{GA} }
socks.com
i'm logged out of google so it's using http not https which is good.
But the strange thing is that the filter is being applied to www.google.com
i've attached a log if relevant.

Message:
that link helped me to see what is going on, i'm not sure why it was going
wrong initially 'cos I can't see what my action file was then, but it's
behaving normally / as expected now. thanks.

I haven't. As I wrote,
this is in my user.action file
{ +set-image-blocker{blank} }
.com
.au
{ +FILTER{GA} }
.com
.co.uk

Message:
It looks like you have asked the user.action to apply the image-blocker and
GA filter to ".com", which will apply to any domain name ending with .com
You need to edit the ".com" entries and change them to: .socks.com

In file: user.action View
{+set-image-blocker{blank} }
.com
{+filter{GA} }
.com
my user.action file says
{ +set-image-blocker{blank} }
.com
.au
{ +FILTER{GA} }
.com
.co.uk

Message:
If you visit http://config.privoxy.org/show-url-info?url=www.google.com%2F
it should give you a list of which action files apply your filter to
google.com. If nothing is obvious, please paste the output and I'll take a
look.
