Summary: Proxifying Privoxy

Initial Comment:
Hello everyone,

First of all, the basics:

OS: Windows XP SP2 32 bit
Browser: Mozilla Firefox 3
I am not using a home firewall product.
I use Tor in conjunction with Privoxy.
My email address: zugurudumba[at]gmail[dot]com

The internet connection on my PC has recently been filtered by some kind of LAN proxy \
/ firewall that listens on port 3128, requires authentication and blocks pages by \
scanning for keywords. I have the username and password and I can "proxify" a lot of \
Windows applications (my browsers, email clients, instant messengers), except for \
Privoxy. I need Privoxy because I also have to use Tor now, in order to bypass the \
pesky filtering policy in place.

The Privoxy documentation didn't help, however I managed to edit the main Privoxy \
configuration file and forward the requests to the LAN proxy - but I don't know how \
to specify the authentication details in the config file.

Right now it's something like this:

forward / filtering-machine.org:3128

So how do I authenticate?

Neverming, I solved this issue by "proxyfying" Tor (through the Vidalia
front-end), not Privoxy.
