OS: Gentoo Linux, 2.6.24 kernel
Browser: Firefox 2.0.0.12 on MacOSX (10.5) and Windows XP
Home firewall: No

I recently upgraded from 3.0.6 to 3.0.8 and have noticed very random slowdowns and \
inconsistent traffic patterns using Privoxy. When Privoxy is off, everything works \
smoothly. When it is on, it tends to hang and delay a lot. Under 3.0.6 this was never \
a problem.

Thanks for the report.

Are you using vanilla sources or Gentoo-specific patches?
What does the configure output look like?
Can you reproduce the problem if Privoxy is running
on Mac OS X or Windows?

Can you get a backtrace of a hanging Privoxy process?
(truss or strace output could be helpful as well)
