Summary: WinXP Authentication issue with Parent Proxy
Initial Comment:
I'm a long time IJB user, finally upgrading to Privoxy.
Am using Privoxy ver. 3.0.3_2, just downloaded today
from Phoenix AZ mirror site.
Have it installed on home PC running Windows XP Pro and
Firefox 1.5, it works great.
On work PC, also running Windows XP Pro and Firefox
1.5, I have to forward through a parent proxy. This
works fine with IJB (as set in the sforward.ini file).
For Privoxy I've set "forward" in the config as described:
forward / parentproxy:8080
But Privoxy does not seem to work - it hangs for a few
minutes, then a window pops up asking for my work
signin/pwd which I supply then it hangs again and the
cycle repeats.
If I toggle Privoxy to disable (but still in the chain,
as a pass through) then it works ok. It appears that
when Privoxy is enabled it is not passing the user
authentication to the parent proxy in the same way that
IJB does. I ran DEBUG 16 for Privoxy and the relevant
data regarding atuthentication is below.
OS on work PC is Win XP pro version 2002 SP2.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
