Maybe we could add a few new "ST_generate*" functions to PostGIS:
- ST_GenerateLine(n_vertices INTEGER, bounding_geometry GEOMETRY)
- ST_GeneratePolygons(n_vertices INTEGER, bounding_geometry GEOMETRY)
