The methods exist -- use the source, Luke. That is how the objects are
instantiated, by parsing the string representation from the db. I took
most of the code which does this from the postgresql jdbc classes and
just modified that to fit our canonical representations. Toss in a few
accessor methods and voila, the org.postgis classes.
