So, what you're saying is that Postfix is successfully delivering the mail
to /var/spool/mail, and you're having problems with your POP3 server.
(BTW, the "queue" refers to /var/spool/postfix; /var/spool/mail is where
the mailboxes live. That you can read the mail with PINE tells me that
it was successfully delivered to the mailbox.)
While probably a bit off topic, posting some details about which POP
server you're using, and its configuration, may elict some help from
the list...
