Dovecot is likely listening only on the "implicit TLS" IMAP port, namely
993.

- On port 993, clients start by establishing a TLS connection, and
  only then engage the IMAP protocol.
- On port 143, clients would have to engage IMAP first, and use its
  STARTTLS support to negotiate TLS encryption.  This pattern is now
  deprecated.

Your client should be configured to use IMAP via implicit TLS on port 993.
Some clients may call this SSL, while port 143 STARTTLS is then called
TLS.  This is now quite misleading, but such is life.

As already mentioned, this is a Dovecot, and not a Postfix issue.  Seek
further help on the Dovecot list.
