Okay, I think that works James.  I'll let you know if I have any

Certainly.  Try the two forward slashes instead.  Otherwise a code
change to the plugin would be required.

But why was the plugin coded to use // as the delimiter and not \ ?

Please try the attached patch.  It is not tested.  It works by skipping
either // or \ instead of just // .
