It looks like your "remote desktop connection" is using port 3389, and
is leaving your system via the ethernet interfaces rather than the
tunnel interface.  This will be because your kernel routing table tells
it to work that way; or you are trying the connection to the original IP
address of the remote host rather than the new IP address assigned to
the tunnel interface.  That makes it "not a PPTP problem", and you can
use all the usual system tools you need for changing the routing table
or the IP address you connect to.  See the route(1) command.
