Hi,

I am running pptpd v 1.1.3 and have noticed something odd.
When the program starts it gets a process number as normal
which is recorded in /var/run/pptpd.pid as you all well know.
However if you then try to run the program again without
killing it first it will be allocated a new process number but this
is not updated in the pptpd.pid file so now the two mismatch.

I discovered this as the script in my firewall tests whether
pptpd is running by:

1: read PID from /var/run/pptpd.pid
2: read /proc/$PID/status - which fails if the PID is incorrect

If this is not a bug then sorry for wasting your time!!

Regards,
