Is this an issue with having HPSF properties show up properly in word? If 
so, you might find that word caches the properties, and you'll need to 
update the cache in word too. I'd suggest you try writing to similar files 
out from word, with different properties, and try to spot the difference. 
You might also want to look at how it behaves in .docx, as that's 
generally easier to debug, but often quite similar to .doc
