The Acer laptop has bluetooth version 4.
The Boat 100 wireless earphone has bluetooth version 5.

This seems to be causing the issue.
Imagine the issue of IoT devices like some smart bulbs supporting only
2.4 Ghz wifi frequency. They can not work on 5.0 Ghz wifi frequency.

Wireless headphones have backward compatibility but still.
There are lot of differences between those 2 bluetooth versions. [1]

To verify, can you try it on any other Ubuntu laptop with bluetooth
version 5 if available? [2]
