Hi,

the cards are not locked to the service providers and can be used. as couple
of my friends using it on BSNL 3G. It depends on the service providers
though, if they let the user use it on a non-service provider cards.

I have read few comments on the web from Airtel and Idea users that they can
use it for 2G GPRS connections.
