this is clearly optimal. however, it's becoming more and more irrelevant, 
since IMAP is gaining ground vs. POP3. further, the majority of users (of 
either protocol) are unlikely to have enough access to their mail server 
to set up procmail.

so, i'd like to expand the conversation a little. for people who don't 
have shell accounts on their mail server, and/or people who are stuck with 
non-Sieve capable IMAP servers...are we stuck with client-side filtering?
