 I've heard some people that find it annoying of the extra click in 2.1 to
 insert a smiley.
 I thought of a way to solve this:
 When you press the mouse button down the dropdown opens, now you can move
 the mouse to hover whatever entry you'd like and when you made your choice
 just release the mouse button. This way it will still be one click. I hope
 this is possible in gtk.
