At long last, I've managed to package (i.e. backport from Jaunty) Pidgin
2.5.5 for Ubuntu Dapper, Gutsy, Hardy, and Intrepid. These packages are
currently of the "it builds, ship it" level of quality. That said, I am
quite confident that they'll work.

These packages are available in the download section at pidgin.im:
    http://pidgin.im/download/ubuntu/

The auto-detection code for the download page has been updated to send
Ubuntu users to this page.

Please let me know of any problems.
