The QA site reads:

"Providing QA for this release candidate: 5.2.6RC2

     * php-5.2.6RC2.tar.bz2
       496ff65dedbb17d65be3577a4a7e410f php-4.4.8RC1.tar.bz2
     * php-5.2.6RC2.tar.gz
       8f4cd69b5d07b60164238b570197059a php-4.4.8RC1.tar.gz"

These checksums appear to be for PHP 4.4.8RC1.

I did checksums of the files as I downloaded them, and those checksums are:

d99362aad64dc630b8a684751a2c7302  php-5.2.6RC2.tar.bz2
63a2d8aecd61bcbfd72388299102a515  php-5.2.6RC2.tar.gz

However, the checksums should be generated on your end so that they are accurate.
