This is a doc bug, will fix it.

Odbc_do() is simply a synonym for odbc_exec(), both return an int. 

Odbc_num_rows() returns the number of rows affected by an update or
insert command.
Very few drivers (Adabas being the only I know) also return the number
of rows in a result set.
