Version 3.1 is final! This is a big update. This version has been debugged
more than any other version we have ever released. Even more than 3.0. It is
the preferred version. Download it today on our downloads page.

Special thanks goes out to:
- Jason Birch for the EasyAdmin and those long debugging sessions.
- Kevin Dorff for finding some Postgres problems.
- Fred Wunderlich for installing who knows how many tests to find bugs.
- Plus Thomas Seifert, Stephen VanDyke and the many others who helped find
bugs.

Some of the Phorum 3.1 changes over 3.0.X

New and improved admin. Moderators do not have access to other forums or to
main settings. The UI is much improved. More options on forums. Admin code
is more modular allowing easier modifications. Options like the database
server and language setting is a readable text value not a file name.

All database code was optimized for a faster display of the forums.

The introduction of Folders. Now not only can you have multiple forums, you
can have folders that contain forums. These can also contain more folders,
and so on.

Improved logic for marking messages as "new".

Added a config suffix for the alternate header and footers and made it
available to folders.

All messages in a thread can be viewed on one page.

Forum URL's are shorter.

Added latest reply date in collapsed mode.

New search features allow for conditional searching, date ranges, and
limiting the fields that are searched.

New moderation features. Now messages can be held until approved. All
messages will be mailed to the moderator for approval. Simple urls will be
provided in the email for the moderator to approve, delete, or edit the
message.

There can now be separate bad* files and censor files for each forum. These
file control banning of users based on IP, name, or email and the censoring
of undesired words from a post.

Phorum is now being released under its own license, the Phorum License. It
resembles the PHP License.
