<xsl:output encoding="ascii"/> in LibXSLT does indeed give me numerical entities
just like I wanted. However, when constructing a document from scratch using
XML::LibXML::Document->new('1.0', 'ascii') my text nodes are truncated before
the first non-ascii character (which is reasonable enough, if you ask me).
