To keep the list informed about the new stuff on CPAN:

XML::STX is a pure Perl implementation of STX processor. STX (Streaming
Transformations for XML) is a one-pass transformation language for XML
documents that builds on SAX. The STX language tries to combine the
stylesheet-like approach of XSLT with the streaming nature of SAX. It
may be useful for those writing and maintaining tuns of SAX filters. You
can see more details on STX on the STX homepage
(http://stx.sourceforge.net).

The STX spec is not final yet, but it seems to have a stable core
already. STX::XML is a very incomplete implementation of the current
working draft. I can't recommended it for a serious work now, but
fearless alpha testers may help to improve the library faster.

XML::STX takes benefits of the developed PerlSAX environment; it make
use of XML::SAX, XML::NamespaceSupport, and should work with all
PerlSAX2 compliant drivers and handlers.

Cheers,
Petr
