I installed successfully using CPAN on my OpenBSD4.4/5.9.8  non- 
threaded smoker and my OS X10.5.6 / 5.10.0 non-threaded install

Only my OpenBSD install has showed up on cpan testers: \

The results for _04 look good (knocking on wood...)
