On April 29th, a stable version of Lucid is getting released (see
http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/lucid/beta2). Lucid has PHP 5.3; and since
Ubuntu is a fairly popular distro; I imagine a lot of the E_DEPRECATED bugs
we are already getting are going to increase in volume.

I'm also sure a lot of windows and other distro users are already migrating
over to 5.3; so this is a good time to do this.

To head off the tirade of bugs:
1) I'd like to push pearweb changes out.
http://test.pear.php.net/
http://test.pear.php.net/package/Console_Color
http://test.pear.php.net/package/Console_Color/download

This gives us a pretty clear *Hey, you need pear packages on 5.3? GO HERE*

2) Someone (I don't currently have a 5.3 development environment) needs to
improve http://pear2.php.net/ to have the words *PHP 5.3+ required* etched
into it. Are Brett/others available to do this?
If we don't, curious users are going to try out pyrus and get stumped by the
parse errors.
Then the mailing list posts start.

3) The packages page needs to refer back to PEAR1.
IE:
http://pear2.php.net/?view=packages
"Don't see what you need? Many of the pear1 packages you know and love are
still available (link)".
Are Brett/others available to do this?

If we don't, a lot of people are going to spam us with "PEAR2 has
nothing!?!?!!!" messages.

Any takers? Otherwise, I'm going to put some time aside, upgrade myself, and
then resume whinging here :)
