Im not the primary sysadmin for these servers but I looked and don't see an=
y scheduled task for the maintenance schedule so it may have been removed a=
lready. I do know we had 2012 R2 servers rebooting 3 days after updates we=
re installed a few years ago and enabling the GPO "Always automatically res=
tart at the scheduled time policy" solved that. These servers have been up=
for years now and we have at least 60+ servers that are 2012 and up.

If these are '12R2 + servers it may be because of the Regular Maintenance S=
chedule.
We now disable this task and the Maintenance Configurator task, disable Win=
dows Update in GP and install updates by scripts querying WSUS triggered by=
a scheduled task. This ensures that updates on our servers are updated an=
d rebooted exactly when we want them to be.

Subject: [patchmanagement] Windows Update odd reboot behavior
Hi everyone,
I have a problem with some servers (and not all the time) randomly rebootin=
g during the day from updates being applied even though the AU settings on =
the server have it to only install updates on a certain day and time. Is t=
here anyone willing to email me off-list and look at an update log to maybe=
see what is going on? I am not very good at deciphering these update log=
s.
Thank you!
