Hi,

I still have the same problem that several people already had
earlier but apparently it resolved for them. Not so for me:

root@slipgate ~# cdrwtool -d /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/cd -q -t 10
using device /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/cd
setting speed to 10
1920KB internal buffer
setting write speed to 10x
Settings for /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/cd:
        Fixed packets, size 32
        Mode-2 disc

I'm going to do a quick setup of /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/cd. The disc is
going to be blanked and formatted with one big track. All
data on the device will be lost!! Press CTRL-C to cancel now.
ENTER to continue.

Initiating quick disc blank
Disc capacity is 295264 blocks (590528KB/576MB)

Quick setup complete!

UDFtools are v 1.0.0b2, UDF module is version 0.9.6, kernel 2.4.19 (vanilla kernel \
with self-applied XFS, preempt, low-latency and of course Jens Axboe's packet \
writing patch). My CDRW device is a LiteON LTR-24102b.

This occurs on every medium i use, with 650MB as well as 700MB CD-RWs, different \
manufacturers. I tried already quite a lot to resolve this, including different \
versions of both udftools and udf, different kernel versions (2.4.18 and 2.4.19), \
browsing the mailing list archives for patches and applying if appropriate, but \
nothing so far worked.

When i set it up manually (cdrwtool -b, then -m and then mkudffs) the same thing \
happens, and it's not related to the amount of blocks used or the size of the UDF \
filesystem.

The most important thing here to note is that it just worked 2 weeks ago. I have a \
UDF disk i formatted on this very machine and i still use it. Using the writer with \
whatsoever method trough cdrecord/cdrdao works w/o problems, the device is actually \
completely OK.

Thanks a lot in advance for any hints.
