I am experiencing a problem formatting one of my CD-RWs with cdrwtool:

I have kernel 2.3.99-pre3, the packet-0.0.1l-2.3.99-pre3-8 patch and the
udf-0.9.1 stuff.

I have an Iomega ZipCD.

When I execute cdrwtool with either -u or -q, there is eventually write
activity to my CD-RW. cdrwtool reports the % status of formatting the
disk until it reaches 99%. At that point I see the following error
message:

     [root@paus1 tools]# ./cdrwtool -d /dev/hdc -q
     . . .
     99% complete
     Writing UDF structures to disc
     -14400 (EDT)/240
     Error writing packet 0 (ffffffff)

I then ran chkudf on the disk in the hopes that it would help in
identifying the problem:

     [root@paus1 tools]# ./chkudf /dev/hdc
     --Determining device/media parameters.
     ioctl error 1.

       Checking 275747 (n - 406): **Read error #5 in 275747

Is there anything else I can do which would help finding the source of
this problem? Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance,

Sean
