Are we writing this for the reference design on the datasheet?

Well I was looking for a simple character display such as the one below. It's
4x20 char and from what I can tell, it uses a standard parallel interface.

http://www.hnqhlcd.com.hk/lcm/lcd_datasheet/UC204A-YP-RB-N.pdf

I'm not stuck to that particular model - I just found it and they are reasonably
priced, but I'd like a 4x20 char if possible. We'll be using it to display info
for project here: www.bytality.com/wrrc/ I've also temporarily posted my email
address there for you to contact me directly.

I'd like to use the DS2408 since I'd rather not have our project dependant on
Loius's PCBs so an end user could build it entirely on their own even if he
stops selling his units.

Thanks much.
-Scott

I just saw that app note on the DS2408 as an LCD driver as well. They have code
snippets in the appnote and everything. I was looking at Loius Swart's LCD
driver, but would rather do with a 2408 if possible.

Is it possible to add some LCD properties to the OWFS structure for the DS2408??
Something like the DS2438 has humidity file even though you need external
components.

Gus - Do you have some good resources on LCD basics?

Thanks

Something else occurs to me, is the LCD display driven by the DS2408

still supported? And how was it wired to the LCD display?

The only LCD supported was Louis Swart"s, which is PIC based. The

 people who

designed the DS2408 LCD display wouldn"t offer any details (at least in

 2003

 when I asked).
