I compiled osiris-4.1.7 on Fedora Core 4 test 2.
All works fine but at compile time I had to change line 42 in 
src/libosiris/error.c
from
*static* struct e_keywords error_keywords[] =
to
*/*static*/* struct e_keywords error_keywords[] =

The header src/libosiris/error.h contains at line 152:
*extern* struct e_keywords error_keywords[];
which conflicts with the static declaration.
