I also would love to contribute to this effort.
We just got our Certificate in FOSS4G approved by the university and the co=
mmission on higher education.
We will start offering it fully online Fall 2017. For now is on campus only=
.

Dear colleagues,
Professor Karl Donert (President EUROGEO and Director European Centre of Ex=
cellence, digital-earth.eu University of Salzburg, Austria) has kindly invi=
ted me to deliver a keynote presentation at EUROGEO 2017 in Amsterdam on 2=
-3 March 2017. EUROGEO promotes the European dimension in geographical edu=
cation as a contribution towards the development of European citizenship. B=
y doing so, EUROGEO encourages the development of a greater European awaren=
ess through the medium of geography and increases mutual knowledge and unde=

EUROGEO 2017 will aim to address cross-cutting issues such as:
How does geographical education respond to needs of society and the wor=
ld around us?
Does geographical education give young people the necessary tools they =
need to think spatially?
How do new technologies and open access to data help engage youngsters?
How should education respond to the ever-increasing importance of geogr=
aphic information?
I will aim to actively share GeoForAll ideas at the event and welcome colle=
agues to proactively contribute to these important discussions.You can find=

This is really good opportunity for us to proactively contribute to these i=
mportant discussions. Ela from Poland and some of our GeoForAll colleagues =
are actively involved in EUROGEO, so this is a good opportunity for us to f=
urther expand collaborations.
Topics may include but are not limited to:
early years geography education
geography in primary school
high school developments
curriculum development and change
university level teaching and learning
innovation and change
the use of new technologies
employability and careers
Karl also put forward an excellent idea for compiling a book to record "Geo=
for All" developments and initiatives. If fact , our colleagues in various=
labs are contributing to each of the topics above from early year geograph=
y education to innovation and change, so it will be great to have a book co=
mpiled with all the global inputs. I would like to welcome inputs from the =
wider community for this. We will need one lead person from GeoForAll to le=
ad this book project. Please let me or Karl (cc in) know if you are interes=
ted.
