Ok this looks like a case of the interrupt controllers not working.
You are hanging just before calibrate delay loop.

So I suspect simply sorting out the apic shutdown/restore
path will fix this one.  Certain x86-64 systems are experiencing
similar problems.

Basically it looks like the kernel is not placing the appropriate
apics back in virtual wire mode.

More when I get back.
