You'll have to do more than edit english/default.php
if i understand you correctly.  Can you explain a
little more what you want?  The tricky thing about the
main default.php page is it has a few sections for the
main area and only one of these choices will get
displayed depending on whether you're in a main
category with subcategories, you're looking at actual
products, or you're just in the regular default choice
where that MAIN_TEXT is displayed when you first enter
the catalog.   (am i confusing you?  i am myslef ;-)

If you want to add another image there, you'll just
make another

<tr><td><some image tags and stuff></td></tr>

underneath the one with the MAIN_TEXT and image.  If
i'm even close to what you're talking about, lemme
know and i'll try to help more.
